COMMENTARY to AWARDS:
Laurence Bradshaw, Prof. of Art/University of Nebraska wrote in his Juror's Statement:
*1) Fritz Suter of Van Nuys/CA lyrically presents a rather free form view of California in "California Garden" with a delightful polychromatic color scheme in a moving pattern also rich in various playful shapes.
*2) Fritz Suter ....... has accomplished a rendition of wath turbulence could look like in his mixed media piece "Earthquake". The brightly colored curvilinear passages and the loosely splattered areas creates a very moving yet somewath agitated expression.
*3) Fritz Suter ....... has a commend of facial expression in his work in acrylic. His cubistic approach is highly imaginativ. "7 Couples" is an example of his wonderful creativity. The idea of seven quite different couples is quite unusual and unexpected.
*4) Fritz Suter .......has two magnificent works in acrylic and collage. two importand works in this show are his works "Capitalism" and "Enough". These are wonderfully expressive.
*5) Fritz Suter ...... is an expressionist painter as seen in his work called "Four guys". The abstraction works well and the idea of four guys standing together gives a kind of strenght to the sixty foot tall painting.
*6) Fritz Suter of Van Nuys, California is able to depict cityscapes in detail. His "Cleveland - The New American City" is rich with variety. And he is able to abstract in detail showing "L.A. Bird City" with even greater color.
